Over head computer not working correctly
The outdoor temperature started reading incorrectly. I unplugged the connector to the temp. Sensor and plugged it back in and know the temperature always reads 130 f. And the fuel economy reading and engine hrs. Resets to zero Everytime the truck shuts off. But the computer keeps the miles traveled after I shut the engine off. Any ideas about what is wrong and how to fix it?

What year is your truck? The temp sensor issue just sounds like a failed part to me, and can be replaced for around $25. As for the fuel mileage, trip odometer, and timer; I would suspect you have an issue with batteries, crossover cable, or grounds. 2006 and newer CAN-BUS systems are super sensitive to the slightest changes in voltage.
FYI, engine hours are not displayed on the overhead. They are displayed on the odometer when the reset button is pressed, and held within 1-2 seconds of key on.

Thanks for the reply
my truck is a 03. I assumed I have a bad temp sensor, but don't understand why unplugging it and plugging it back in mad the temp reading stuck on 130f. And messed up the rest of the computer.
