Ordering vs picking from lot.....
jughed440 is right about the small town dealers. I went to 2 smaller dealerships that are nearest to my house last week, and though both had a boat load of Hemi's, neither had a Cummins on the lot.
I ordered my truck but I could have got the same deal off of the lot. If you order make the dealer puts the final price in writing because the sticker price will likely go up by the time the truck comes in, mine did because of steel prices but it didn't affect how much I acctually paid. Also make the dealer lock in the available rebates and financing so if things change for the worse when your truck gets in you still get the benefits that were available when ordering. Lastly you should be able to take the invoice price of the truck minus rebates then minus at least 1.5% of the sticker price to get to your final price. The 1.5% means you are getting some the dealer hold back which is 2-3% of the sticker price which is paid to the dealer by Dodge at the end of the year.
Just my experiences...
Just my experiences...
I would never order. You need to drive and compare with other trucks to see if problems exist before you buy. Each truck feels and sounds a bit different. Why I don't know, it is just the way it is with atv's too. I drove mine 3 different days before I bought it. Ordering yes is the only way you can get everthing just perfect on the options, but I have learned buying 5 new vehicles in the last 5 years, color and options don't mean much. Having a good running vehicle is what gets you from point a to b.
