Ordered my 2500 H.O.!!!!

I'm a fairly new user here so I'll start by saying Hello to everyone. I have been reading many posts here recently and wearing out the search button learning more and more about diesels. After reading and learning ( while consuming more than a few pots of coffee ) I decided to purchase my first diesel. I must say I am really excited!

I work for DC at the Newark Assy Plant building Durangos. One of the perks here is that I will be able to track my truck day by day during the build. I know at this time it is scheduled to be built in Mexico and due ( tenatively ) to ship from there 3/13.

Here's what I ordered:

2500 SLT QC SB 4x4 H.O. Auto
Atlantic Blue
Dark Slate Interior
Leather Seats ( includes Leather steering wheel, power drivers seat and folding flat rear storage )
Steering Wheel Mounted Audio Controls
Anti Spin-3.73
Tonneau Cover
Fog Lamps
Snow Plow Prep Group
Auto Dim Rearview Mirror
Bodyside Molding
Power Adjustable Pedals
CD/Cassette Radio w/ Infinity Speakers
Hood Shield
265/70 Tires
Trailor Tow Group
Sliding Rear Window

My best friend placed an order at the same time, he has everything I have but opted for the Laramie Package in Patriot Blue. We have consecutive VIN #'s, how cool is that!

I'm going to have the rear inner fender liners installed before I leave the dealer. Dodge really cheaped out on us by not installing them as a standard item. I'm also ordering a Sport Grille to have on standby so I can replace the honeycomb grille immediately after I get the truck home.

All in all I'm excited about my decision and now face the wait for the call from the dealer telling me to come and take delivery. Now if we can just get those diesel fuel prices to drop back to a realistic level!

In my sig you will see that we have similar taste in trucks, mine was also ordered. If I could do anything over I would not get the slate interior. The taupe headliner and A pillar covers look seriously mismatched with the slate.

One mans opinion.

The waiting is the hardest part.

That's a good point Nevada. Dodge started with the "Neutral" color headliners and now they have worked their way down to the A-Pillar. At work as the Durango's come past me the interior is almost complete so I get to see the interior colors. I guess I am used to the mismatch in color from doorpanel/dash to A-Pillar, however I would prefer all the pieces match.

Do you have any pics of your truck? I'm having a hard time finding 2500's in Atlantic Blue. Pics would help me during my wait! ;D

No photos yet, and to be truthful I wouldn't have the first idea how to post them if I did. I am still trying to drag myself into the mid 80's technology wise. You will be pleased to know that I traded in a '98 Durango SLT on the Ram. Nice vehicle, with a few minor bombs it would pass anything but a gas station.

BigEd, I was on the fence about ordering the Auto Dim rearview mirror. I figured as much as the truck was going to cost anyway what the hell.

We are scheduled to run a pilot 04 Durango on 3/17 so I'll get my first look at one then.

Re:Ordered my 2500 H.O.!!!!

Stiffler, congrats on ordering your new RAM. As you can tell by my sig our trucks are similar. My truck is "flame red" "Taupe
interior", No "Snow Plow Prep Group" and no "Tonneau Cover".

A note on the "Hood Shield" you can only get the chrome one on the SLT package, it comes colored keyed on the LARAMIE package. SO when mine came in I had the dealer put the chrome hood shield on. Chrome on red looks very good.

My automatic dimming rearview day/night mirror works, although my truck sets up high and most headlights are low to me anyway. But there are some vechicles that are high and there headlights come through the tinted back glass and make the rearview mirror dim.

And it came from Saltillo,Mexico
