Ordered 04 on Sept 17
I ordered my new truck on Sept 17. Checked with the dealer today and found out it has a shipping code of KZT. It's in Benicia and will arrive in Carson City "any day". Yeaow, can't wait.
I asked if we could call Benicia and ask when it will be sent and he said, get this, " if I call them it will add three weeks to the delivery". Huh? What was that? " Yeah those guys will park it out by the pond and it will cost us three weeks to get it, so we never call" Interesting.
John :P

Wetspirit,
If your dealer is checking the order, he knows what the est delivery date is to the dealership. The dealers don't like to tell customers this date as it can change. My dealer delivery date changed from 10/30 to 11/3 to 11/4 to 11/5 and now is showing 11/6. About your dealer calling the carrier and it causing a delay, that a bunch of bull. Lightman had his dealer call the distribution center and he got it delivered pronto.

Crabjoe, I see you haven't received your truck yet either. Mine went went from 10/30 to 11/3 then 11/6 and now 11/7. I talked to my dealer yesterday, its in Tampa and off the ship but has to go to a rail yard before being turned over to the local deliver. They want me to have it today cause they are a couple of cars short of the monthly quota. As of last night they were trying to get the factory rep to have it released so it can be picked up by the dealer. I told them I didn't want some yahoo racing my new truck back across I-4 and he said if they get it released I can go with them and drive it back myself. (they have others to pick up also) Well it's 10:am and I haven't heard from him so chances are it won't happen. The wait goes on. The guy who bought my '96 picked it up Tuesday so I'm wheel-less and its to far to drive the John Deere to town. Guess i'll just have to get caught up on some chores. I'll let ya'll know what happens.
Re:Ordered 04 on Sept 17
My dealer just called and said my truck has been assigned to a hauler and it's supposed to be delivered TODAY he said he will call when it gets here. I guess they really want me in it today. I'll keep ya'll posted! ;D
Re:Ordered 04 on Sept 17
Congrats Jerry! Those quotas these dealers have to make can make a big difference in what their bonus ends up being.
My parents old neighbor use to own a Ford dealership and I was told that they got bonuses based on how many vehicles they sold for the year and what they sold by the end of every month. It's a sales game just like everything else.

Crabjoe, the Ricardo Grill you have, does it resemble a K-Car?
Those grills were HUGE! Kinda boxy looking though.
Some had Corinthian Leather handles.

What the heck is a Ricardo Grill? I know what a K car is but Ricardo Geill, never heard of it. BTW, I do plan on changing out the grill to a Billet grill when this truck gets here.

LOL!! I thought you were making a reference to the honeycomb grill on the rams.
Now that I know what your talking about, here's some info on Ricardo's Grill.
Ricardo's Grill (Grillerie) was out long before Foreman's. It was very square like a K-car and it was built by the same company that currently makes the Foreman grill. The nice thing about it was that it came with a square pan, in addition to the grill insert, that you could use to cook cakes or what not instead of just using the grill feature. BTW, I bought mine in '92 after Hurricane Andrew so I could cook in the hotel I was in.

Now doesn't this prove that the plea for a Grill area on the site has merit?
:P
Your grill has been around since the 1st gen trucks and still no Grill forum. :'(
Jack does not care.

Re:Ordered 04 on Sept 17
YES, we need a GRILL FORUM!!
BTW, does anyone have a good Fajita marinade? There was one that came receipe booklet with Ricardo's grill that was EXCELLENT, but I lost it! I remember the marinade having vineger, chillie powder, oil and other stuff, but I can't remember it for the life of me. If you have a good receipe for a fajita marinade, please pass it on.
Thanks!!

Re:Ordered 04 on Sept 17
Thanks Crabjoe!
My dealer called at 3:30 and said they were just taking it off the hauler and I could pick it up around 5 or 6. I've had it out in the barn for the last 2 hours going over it with a fine tooth comb and I am very impressed. Came in with 4 miles on it but they took it for a check ride and I got it with 10. It's still very tight but drove home very smooth and quit. I can't believe they don't give you a 7 pin plug to match the connector at the hitch. I also noticed it has that wierd thing when you push in the clutch the RPM's jump up, that should be easy to get used to. I have to tell you, the quota thing worked out well for me. I think they were more anxious for me to get it than I was. Oh well, a new adventure begins. Hope you get yours soon. I'll keep ya'll posted on how it goes. ;D

When I looked under my truck at the hitch I noticed that the 6 pin flat connector is wired into it too. Thats always nice if I have to use someone elses trailer and its got that plug. ;D
Congrats on the new trucks folks...these are by far a step up from the 2nd gens.
