One year free Sirius service.... Ya right!!
Just finished installing an aftermarket deck in my 07' that I bought on Jan 12th of this year. The truck came with the base stereo with Sirius service for one year.
I just got off the phone with Sirius to get the service switched over to my new tuner and happened to ask what date the service started since I didn't have to call and have it turned on after buying the truck (like my salesman said I would have to), the Sirius customer service person tells me the service started on Oct 12, 2006!!
So much for one year of service.

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago when I went to activate my free year of Sirius. Turned the radio on an I was already getting all my channels so it was obviously already activated, didn't call Sirius to figure out exactly when it was though. I've had both XM and Sirius and think Sirius is a much better service, it's got nascar, more popular and commonly heard songs than XM, and it has 4 county stations not 2.
Sounds like a good reason to stick with Sirius...I hate listening to all those guys whining about losin' their girls cause she found some guy with a bigger trailer and their dogs dying.

Call the dealer and expalain the situation, ask what they can do to make up for the lost subsciption time. Maybe they can have Sirius reset the clock on your free year. Otherwise maybe you can catch a break on some add-onns or something.
There is no reason that the service should have been active. The earliest that the service should have/could have started would be the in-service (delivery) date of the vehicle to you. I'd make some inquiries, seriously (no pun intended).

Bought the wife a durango in October 2004 and the Sirius was already turned on and still is. I not going to rock the boat. There is 3 country stations thank you 'BLUEGRASS RULES'. The other 2 are un-needed.

Are you saying that you've been getting free Sirius all along?
That's it!, I'm blowing the whistle on you and snag a reward hopefully
We can only hope to be as lucky as you.

If it was activated you need to call the dealer and ask them the confirmation code. You will get one when you call to activate it. Actually you need to give an e-mail address and they e-mail the code to you along with all the info you need as well as promotions they do. I had to activate mine. Besides the "Free" one year subscription is INCLUDED in the prices of the truck. Check the window sticker. You paid for it already.
How many miles were on the odometer when you bought it?
Sometimes if the dealer has a interested buyer they will "loan" them the vehicle for 24 Hours to try to seal the deal.
Anyone in the vehicle with a cell phone can activate the subscription.

12 miles when I picked it up
I had 18 miles on mine and the Sirius was already on when I got the truck - I got a envelope in the mail from Sirius about a month after - I will have to go home and read again and try to figure out when my subscription is up... glad I saw this thread....
