no more mega cabs

2009 is the last year of the Mega's for the Heavy Duty's. As many of you know, Dodge introduced an all-new true crew cab for the new 2009 Ram 1500's, and they will probably follow suite with the Heavy Duty's in 2010.

Yeah. I'd have a mega-long bed if they made one.
Several people here have had the frame stretched to build a mega-long, but with the price of the conversion on top of the price of the truck...

Funny thing is....everytime someone shows one of the longbed conversions , one of the first posts is... WOW how do you park THAT thing , it`s SOOO long you can`t drive it without wrecking something
..and I don`t believe that`s the reason they stopped the 1500 Mega,or they would have dropped the 2500/3500 at the same time. I think it was a bad seller , and the `09 re-design was coming out soon anyway.

I hrd they are releaseing a full size crew cab like the other guys and the mega's just going to be gone in the wind as of 2010. However the question know is will the QC disappear as well? I think it will, what use would you have for it if you have a full size crew cab, to me it seems it would be more cost efficient to have one line doing crew cabs, not one doing mega's and one doing QC.

I heard mega cab and the quad cab both are gone for just a crew cab like the other guys. Less choice yes but as a business point it would be easier only two cabs to build in stead of three less equipment to maintain and operate.

looks to me like they are trying to keep a low profile by putting the canopy on the truck making it look like there is a mega cab offered. however that is clearly a crew cab (bigger than a quad cab but not as big as a mega cab) and the canopy over the back of the cab looks just like a cover, not like there is actual cab space back there. i think the mega and quad are both gone, replaced by a true crew cab. I, for one, will be happy with this. this truck here looks good; not a BIG difference from the current body style but, aside from the obvious cab change, small changes that will make a good looking and hopefully equally performing truck.
