No 5 speed Auto...?

Just wonder why Dodge is suck with the 4 speed vs a 5? Think it will happen, as a few I know feel the automatic needs another gear.

there are rumors that Dodge is going to skip a 5 speed auto, and go straight to a 6speed auto to keep up with Ford and GM. So far the name being thrown out is a tranny by Aisin. We shall see. Them Dodge boys sure are keep it top secret on what they are planning on for the '07's

If it's the same Aisin that used to make jeep tranny's, then that might be all right. I've had two off road only jeeps with aisin trannies in them and they've been pretty stout. I'm surpised DC doesn't find some german panzer tank transmission company to use.

I read somewhere it was a D.C.design.Someone posted he worked in maintance in the build/test plant.Said he saw auto's being tinkered with and asked what they were. Was told auto 6 speeds and were already in test mules. That was several months ago.

Isn't Aisin owned by DC? Believed I read that somewhere.
