Nitto Terra Grappler AT or Hankook Dyna Pro ATM?

I get tired of this posts, yet here I am doing it myself.

I'm going to stick with 285/70/17s mainly for looks. I've narrowed it down to these two tires based on cost and research done here. Price is within $32 of each other. Both E-rated.

What's the good, bad, and the ugly? Need performance on snow, but I'd like to get a more highway miles out of them then I did the BFGs (my fault, kept them at max psi after towing, centers wore out. I'll try to remember to de-flate next time, promi$e).

Nitto = American.
Hankook = Chinese.
This is an easy one for me!
Also have two buddies at work that run them and they seem to be holding up well.

The Hancock are made in South Korea.

That's funny because just looking at the names I would've assumed the opposite.

So which one does better in the snow?

Nitto's are on my truck in 315/75R16... Got about 15k on them and they still look new. Haven't hit snow, but hard pack and sand performance is pretty good.

I bought a trailer and the Hankooks were Chinese.
Maybe they farm some out to South Korea or vice versa. I would still rather buy American.

I can not tell you how they handle in the snow. It stays pretty warm down here.

I have had both. I currently run the Hankooks in 285s and I am extremely happy. I have almost 20K on them. Most of it is towing two jeeps in all kinds of conditions. The Nittos were shot at about 15K towing one jeep.

I liked the Nittos but they did not handle weight well.

Inthe area where I buy my tires, (Sandy UT) Discount offers a 50k mile tread wear warranty on the Hankooks. Therefore, I like the Hankooks. I ran the Nittos, (with the same warranty) and got 19k out of them. With that warranty, I paid $400 for my new Hankooks. Go with whatever has the best warranty!!

I am up to almost 24,000 on my Hankooks. I will get an easy 45,000 out of them if not more. Been a great tire so far.

Bought the Hankooks, thanks for the input everyone.

(Discount matched onlinetires.com- nearly $100 difference when all was said and done)
