I was told that there will be another TSB for weather striping. The new one is doing similar to the first set. Should be able to order next week or week after I have been told

I'm bringing my truck in tomorrow for the first weather stripping TSB.

Do you know how this new one is different?

Maybe I should wait.

Thanks...

Yes, there will be another new set of weatherstripping because the "New" ones does the same thing as the old ones. My service manager just got back from a DC meeting and said they will have new ones out soon. He already ordered mine for both trucks but offical orders wont be able to be placed untill next week or the week after i was told.

should be all 3rd gens, 2003-2005, unless the 2005s are being built with the updated molding.

the driver's molding tore at ~4,000 miles, i had the first TSB done and it's starting to tear again, along with the passenger molding. DC should just mail us the updated molding, it's not worth a second trip back to fix this problem.

Does anyone had the latest TSB done?

And does it work?, i.e., does the bottom 'A' pillar clear the weather stripping when you open and close the door?

My dealer wants to re-align the doors. He ordered the new stripping and is going to install that as well.

I wonder if re-aligning the doors is good or bad. It could be a good thing in that Dodge may want to fix this problem with new molding to keep the time and cost of the repair to a minimum.

Funny, my molding started to tear at ~3800 miles. Very close to the same mileage.

Hmmmm...I have 35,500 miles on my truck right now and see absolutely no signs of any problems with the weatherstripping. Am I missing something?

Watch the bottom of the 'A' pillar (it's the bottom, front corner of both front door (driver and passenger) windows, right about where the outside side mirrors are) as you open and close the door(s).

If that outside corner doesn't scrape against the rubber weather stripping as you open and close the door(s), you're OK.

On some trucks that corner is rubbing against the stripping, eventually tearing a hole in it.

You'll know it if you have the problem.

MY TRUCK HAS 9,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS HAD TORN WEATHER STRIPPING FOR ABOUT HALF THE TIME I'VE OWNED IT...DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE DEALER WILL ORDER THE NEW WEATHER STRIPPING AND LET THE CUSTOMER DO THE INSTALL?
MY PARTICULAR DEALER REALLY MAKES ITS DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE TSB SERVICE...THEY MAKE IT INCOVIENIENT ENOUGH THAT IT MAKES CUSTOMERS NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH TSB'S AT ALL..
