I think I understand now. Thanks for the further explaination. I think I will go by and look at one this week and plan for liners. Seems like a good idea.

Dealer called me tonight and confirmed order accepted, and gave me my "VON" number.

Now we wait? As the weeks progress, how do I track the truck using the VON?

 

Using my VON I called DC at 800.992.1997. I don't remember for sure what I did next. I think there is an opportunity to choose a number as a customer. I think I hit '0' next and finally got a customer rep.

I gave him my VON and he gave me my VIN plus an estimated build and shipping date. He also gave me the weight of the truck and a lot of other stuff.

I am calling again tomorrow to see if the build date is still holding.

Good Luck on your delivery, My Father ordered his 04 in the first part of December, he got a phone call yesterday telling him his truck is sitting at a rail dock & can NOT be release untill they (Dodge) makes repairs to the Exhust system. They told him it could be anything from 1 week to maybe 6 weeks, however long to get the parts & correct the problem. Note see the thread in the 3rd generation / non drivetrain postings. "Good Luck"

 

Count me among the list of expectant fathers, ordered mine today! My salesman phoned me back within 20 minutes with a VON number, now the waiting game.
