lungo - they barely stick out of the fender wells, maybe 1/4" at most.

1985cucv - no rubbing anywhere, even while turning hard.

I'll add this....

I love the Nittos..they have been good with little to no vibration. I have had them for 22k and the wear is about what it should be...

I am the idiot that didnt rotate them for 20k and the fronts did take a beating but to tell the truth they held up great...the wear is normal, no cupping, not balding, no cracks pretty much the way a tire would wear.

Now will I get 50k plus probally not but now that I have rotated them I do think I can push them out to 40-45k.

The rears that went up front are still very good so if I got 20k out of the fronts I hope to get 20k out of the rears and I should.

the trick or thing that saved me probally without rotation, was the fact I did keep on top of my tire inflation and I didnt let them sag/sidewall buldge/or over inflate...this was mostly due to the fact that I did let them slip initially and the fronts got down to 50psi and the rears to 55 psi and that DRASTICALLY hurt my mileage...I went from a consistant 18.5-19 mixed use to a dismal 15-16 mpg...

SO....ROTATE and you should get the 50-60k they are rated for and keep the tire pressure above 55 up front and you will get your mileage.

NCA

58 psi up front and 60 in the rear....worked good for me. of course these are D rated tires (65 psi rated max load)....I think E rated are 85 psi rated max load.

I would like to put these on my truck. But, mine is a 3.73 rear end. I'm a little afraid of the effects on towing by the taller gear ratio.

rotate, rotate, rotate. Ive got 41,000 on my nitto 285's. They've been a good tire but I probably wont buy them again. I guess I really cant complain with the amount of miles I got out of them.

Unless your talking about something different than the 305/70/17's, these are E-rates tires. The 85 psi works for the smaller tires, but 65 psi seems to be enough for these 305's.

I am talking about MY tires...285 and I am correct..FROM NITTO

http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Eti...appler%2Esizes

LT285 75R 16 D rated.....65 PSI (my tire)

LT285 75 16 E rated...not my tire 80 PSI ( I was off by 5 psi, but recalling from memory)

LT 305 70R 17 E rated (which I didnt even bother to look at untill now) is 65 PSI....

it isnt about a smaller tire allowing a different PSI...it is about the PLY/LOAD rating...d,e,f,g,h, etc....

My message was for my personal experience...I was only relating what I like about them....no harm no foul!!!!

My new tires are 305/70R17E, and on the sidewall, call for a max of 65 psi. All other E rated tire I have ever run were max of 80-85 psi.
