HdPower,

If you don't have the Hole Hog or the cup saw, or you are not comfortable using those tools, and you are starting out with bare wheels, you might just take them to a machine shop and get them turned out before you start. That is really the proper way to do it.
I got mine as takeoffs with the tires on and I already had the tools so I did them my way. Over the years I've opened up other wheel centers in various crude ways and I was anxious to get these on the truck, so I tried this method and found it to be easy if done carefully. Do what's best for you.

I was just making a general comment. I don't wish to discourage anyone from making the mods they want to their truck.

Based upon the discussion, just seemed like a bit of work. If it looks cool, all the better.

Trust me, I do know the hassle of finding wheels that work with my truck. 5 catalogs, two hours of calls for a selection of 3 wheels.

And, I almost said screw it. I couldn't get the ones I really wanted at the price I wanted. And, they were shown on a H2 in the catalog.

One more little aside, if you do get the hole offset a hair that little bit of aluminum that close too center wont amount to spit definiatly no more than your average tire being out of balance

I completely agree with twoshot... Mine definitely were far from perfect when I was done opening them up and they are smooth as silk... no problems whatsoever
