Hello im new here,ive had a few powerstrokes,but its time for a cummins,,ive found a 04 4x4 crewcab dually w/6-speed,it has 55,000 miles and looks to be in very good shape,and its in my 22k price range,with any luck ill have it by friday.

04 or 04.5?

 

Im not sure how to tell.Any advise?? JC

 

Welcome to DTR! Hope you enjoy your new (to you) truck!

Just look at the driver side of the valve cover and their will be a plate that will give some specs on it. If it says 305 hp you have an 04. If it says 325 hp you have an 04.5.

All trucks built after 1-1-04 for 04 model year are 04.5 trucks.

You can also look under the truck........and if you see a catalytic converter under it it front of the muffler.........it's an 04.5. They have a 4'' exhaust system from the turbo all the way back.

 

Well I dont own it yet,the salesman dosent see it the way I do.Im still hammering him for a deal.LOL I think im wearing him down though.JC
