New 2007 5.9 ?'s

I'm picking up a practically new 2007 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab SB 5.9 tomorrow with 4000 miles on it. I got it for a great price. Now i'm looking for advice on few things.
1. I need a set of running boards that are practical for the wife and kids. The truck is bright silver.

2. I live in western Pa and salt in the winter beats the crap out of the vehicles here. Anyone have any opions on rust proofing. Alot of people in the area use Zeibart.

3. Any flashes for the truck or updates that I should be aware of.

Thanks in advance. I'll post pics tomorrow after I pick it up. Pete

Corrosion protection wise, if it doesn't have the rear wheel liners, I'd suggest getting those. They keep stuff from being slung all over inside the side of the bed. Good mud flaps are also a must.

Undercoating wise, I'd have no idea what's best.

For cab steps, you occasionally see the factory chrome tube type on classifieds for a reasonable price from folks who bought off the lot or whatever and wanted running boards that match a tool box or bedrail caps or whatever. That would probably be the best value for the $$$.

For better protection, though, you might consider spending the money for aluminum or stainless steel full running boards.

Enjoy the new truck.

The dealership parts department has them. Depending on the year, some trucks came with them (full coverage weel well liners) and some just came with a little plastic deflector type thing in the back part of the wheel well.

I think they are around $80 for the pair. They come with hardware, and the fenders already have holes in the required locations.

I must be retarded....My last two Dodges both had holes in the inner fender lip and I thought the bolts had fell out....

When is Pete picking up the new rig?

Pete break bread with some action shots!

for the under coating I went to a local auto body paint store and bought the spray can undercoating it was something like between $2-$3 used it for the wheel wells and the inside of the bed underneath went the whole length, then I took some rust preventing paint and painted the drive shaft and both front and rear ends along with springs and anything else.

as for running boards used some stainless ones here are some pic's. bought them Thur running board warehouse here is the link.

For rustproofing, Ziebart in the northeast is about the best you are going to get, have used them since 1980 on multiple trucks, & I live near the ocean where rust is an issue all year long, the dealer here does a inspection every year & recoats where needed.
