My father in-law has an 08 3/4 ton mega cab, and he picked up some nerf bars for it and we cant quite figure out how the center bracket goes on it. The end that isnt seen is flat (horizontal) and bends into the angled part that is being held. The question is....is this how they go??? and if so what do we do about the metal lip for the, because the corner hits it and wont allow the bracket to be secured all the way down unless something gets bent or cut.

 

Are these the mopar bars or some other brand?

 

some other brand, dont remember. The truck is at his house, so i cant just run out and look.
