Need advise from the wise!

I am looking for another truck! I'm looking 2003 to 2005 dually with standard trans. Is there a certain year that had problems with certain things? Thanks in advance!

The 03-04.5 trucks have failing lift pumps mounted behind the stock filter housing. Easily remedied with a Walbro pump or FASS, which you will need anyway if you plan to up the power. Starting in 05 they went to the intank design pumps...which seem to be doing well. But you still gotta put on an aftermarket pump if you want boost up to significant power.

On the early 05's, Dodge messed up and switched to "PLASTIC" intercoolers which often blow. You will probably want to change it to a metal one. Later 05's had metal...as well as....earlier trucks.


They are all good. Buy any with confidence.

Two manual trannys used in 05. The NV5600 and the G56.Not really a issue with eaither but each one drives differantly.Ac issues and heat and ac issues with dash blend and recir doors.Seems ALL models are affected with that.
