My Goodyear tire's are coming apart again
Just a rant about my tires.
The original tires Goodyear rs/a's, started to seperate, about a year and a half ago. I had 26,000 miles on them. Guess what the ones Goodyear warrantied them with, gs/a's are doing the same thing now, 54,000 miles on the truck.
So either I need to go to a school to learn how to drive a Dodge with tires on it or something is wrong with the Goodyears's I have had.
Yes, I am a serious about checking air pressure and I rotate them.
Anybody else had this type of problem?

I've heard about lots of problems with Goodyear truck tires, out of round issues, seperating, short life span. Personally I would never buy a pair of Goodyears. I'm a Bridgetsone person. Never had any problems with'em. Just my .02

I just put my third set of Michelins on my truck. Got 75000 out of the first set and 80000 out of the second set. All twelve are still as flat across the tread as new. Kept the first set for spares for the GN.
A friend of mine at work had two different sets of GY's come apart on him, both at interstate speeds. He said never again.

When I had to replace the first set there was no other tire available on planet earth to fit my truck but more Goodyears. That lack of choice really had me grumbling.
This time around there seems to be choices.
I have always heard third times a charm, maybe that does not apply to Goodyear tires.
The truck is still running like a champ but it sure has been a barren road when it comes to some aftermarket stuff for it. I am still patiently waiting for Bilstein to make front shocks for it, two years later.

Just got new Cooper Discoverer ATR. Love them so far. Had the rugged trail t/a
before and would always spin when pavement wet from stop. Now it will take off like a truck should. Quiet too.

All of my experience with Goodyear has been bad.
The ones on the truck now are badly worn, cupped and poor traction.
I have a new set of the latest Highway Tread Toyo's being shipped to me right now!
I like the looks of them, similar to the Michelin LTX but more sipes and what appears to be a thicker ribbed tread in each edge.
I put a picture of them in my gallery.
They are supposed to have a very high tread rating too. E rated 10 ply and factory replacement size for my dually.
Michelin LTX have been the best for me so far. Maybe the TOYO will do better.

Interesting - - I was just looking at my GY's this morning. 23,000 on them with most of that towing a 16,000 pound fiver. They hardly look like they have been on the road.

Wish mine would have held up,that would have saved me time and money. I am sure they all don't fall apart but the two set's I have had on my truck did.
I guess the only good thing to come out of it is I caught them before I wound up with an unfixable problem.
It was just a head's up to anyone interested, to look for it. If everyone who did not have a problem with their tires posted here, they would probably need a bigger server for the website.
