Mounting a 37" spare?

I just had 37" tires put on and totally love it. I still have yet to get the spare though. I figured I would just find a used one somewhere since it will hopefully be hardly used. I was wondering if anyone know if it would fit under the truck? It looks like it would be real tight. If not does anyone have any good in bed mounting solutions that look clean and neat? The one thing I don't want is the tire mounted against the side rail of the bed, never liked that look. I did want a tool box in back of the bed, but I fear I will not be able too. BTW its a short bed.

I have the same issue and the darn tire is sitting in my bed, I hate that...so much wasted space.

I may eventually buy a THULE cargo system and try and mount it up there. I love my 37's, but the spare tire issue is a drag.

I've heard people telling me how hard it was to mount 35's under so i could only imagine the frusturation of mounting 37's. I don't agree with mounting it inside the bed because your ultimately getting rid of the bed. I have a short bed don't get me wrong i love the look its very proportional but space is an issue sometime.

One idea I had was to mount it underinflated/or even uninflated(with some starting fluid to pop the bead), and adding an air compressor to the truck.

Put on the roof... What about a rear bumper with the spare mount on it?

They are really cool though. Would have to get used to the extra length when backing up, might hit something!! LOL!!

I got a 35" spare in the factory spot no problem and it looks like you might be able to get a 37 in there but don't take my word for it. the best thing to do would be test fit it!!

A 37 will not fit between the rails
I may be having Carli Suspension build me a custom bumper with spare mount.

I have the same problem, no spare....

I am meeting with a local guy who builds custom bumpers. He incorporates a rear tire carrier with the pre-runner look. Like the tiregate option.

I will know more sunday when I meet with him. Price for the entire unit should be less than just the tiregate.

Get a grill guard/front bumper, fabricate a mount on the new front end, and mount the tire on it.

Most trucks are just pavement pounders (not Pauly's) and used for commuting. If you're serious about off-roading, have a nice pre-runner rack built. Otherwise I'd just leave the spare in the garage unless going on a long trip and just call AAA if you have an issue near home.
