MegaCab To Be Introduced In 2005

Well, it looks like it's official. The MegaCab is to be introduced sometime in 2005 according to Chrysler Marketing Chief. Check out this Detroit News article.

Just when I had decided on a color to order for an '05 QC. If I knew for a fact the MegaCab would be offered in a long bed, I believe I would wait.

I know some people would like a larger cab but I'm satisfield with mine. I rarely have any rear seat passengers and I wouldn't want my truck to be any longer than it is.

same here, I like the quad cab now, I'm glad i ordered my 05 1/2. I wouldn't want a full crew cab. I would be interested in a 6sd auto tho. Hopefully the new G56 will be as good as the nv5600

Maybe I read it wrong but it also listed a 5 speed auto DGQ-5 speed automatic 5-45RFE. Or is that only for the Hemi?

Ditto for me. There's enough space for my needs. I have never had any rear seat passengers complain. I wanted maneuverability in an everyday driver. That's why I got the Dodge QC and the shortbox. I think it's the best of both worlds - just enough room in back with 4 real doors. The suicide doors on my 2000 PSD extended cab were a PITA and I can't tell you how many close calls I had with people trying to slam the back doors on top of the fronts. I hope they still continue to build the smaller cabs.

My german is a little rusty, lol but it mentions the 06 neon getting a diesel. (It's the one on the top of the article.)

Here are a couple of glimpses of the elusive Mega Cab that I came across during my online travels, plus a few clues about styling changes for 2006.

At the same price I would have bought the Mega-cab, but you know it's going to cost more.

It's the same size as a QC with a long bed, but the Mega-cab will come with the short bed only.

The leftover length (21") is going into extending the cab. It will be like a living room on wheels, with a short bed in the back.

I hardly ever carry rear passengers so for all practical purposes my truck (2004.5 2500 QC 4x4) suits me fine, but the size of that Mega-beast sure tempts my ego

Personally my quad cab works perfect for me. I love the new 3rd gens But the old style with the four doors works excellent for me as I almost never have rear seat passengers and it is more of a storage area.

However when I do have rear seat folk, they tell me it is "liveable" back there and far better than an extended cab chev.

Looking at the back seat from the drivers seat it sure does look small to me! Glad I've never rode back there!

When the 03 heavyduties came out alot of guys on this site and turbodieselregister slammed DC for not making a true crewcab and now some say that they don't need a TRUE crewcab, I don't get it.BRing on the mega cab but put a new 5or6 speed auto tranny in it.

Sure, bring on the Mega Cab! Just keep the QC around long enough for me to buy one.

The introduction of the Mega Cab will lower the demand on the QC trucks and maybe drop the cost slightly. As others have said the QC w/ shortbed is just right IMHO. Perfect balance of size and cab space for my needs.
