Watch out buying a new truck in the States if you live in Canada, Dodge voids the warranty at the border........ but for some reason the same truck in the USA seems to be like 15000 cheaper - give or take - you can buy alot of parts and pay for alot of labour for that kind of money. The dealerships are driving me down there to that market for my next truck......... thats another story tho.........

I would think the warranty would be void upon completion of extending the truck to a long bed?

i don't se why warrenty would be voided other than the canadian dealers want the business, but like was stated above trucks are 10-15k cheaper in the states for the same truck, any one have more info on all this warrenty stuff

get a vin number for a usa truck- off of an ebay auction and have your canadian dealer run that vin number to see if there is a warranty for that truck in canada-the answer will be no.

Do American dealerships void warranty if a vehicle is bought in Canada and then taken to the US? I can't believe they will void your warranty!! Your still buying the vehicle from Chrysler whether you paying for it here or in the US. Very stupid policy!!! What if you buy a used one with warranty still left on it, is it void if you bring it to Canada? Sorry about the Rant but it's BS!!!

I belive a longbed conversion only voids the frame warranty, and if is lifted there go's the suspension and drivetrain warranty

It is BS for sure. However, when I was inquiring about buying my truck stateside, I was told right from DC that US market built vehicles will have their warranty void when imported to Canada. To me, saving $15K is alot of warranty and I would have bought mine down South if I had the time to go get it and bring it back. Next time for sure!!

Dodge Voids all warranties at the border no matter what, I talked to a vechile importer and he said that the only time dodge MAY transfer the warranty to Canada is if the owner legitimatly mover to Canada and even then he has heard of them turning it down in cases like that..... Chevrolet is 6 months or 7500 miles and Ford has no restrictions on warranty. They are more money in Canada because that is what we will pay and it is that simple is what that guy told me...... egg on my face again for shopping local...........

thats why i sugested buying it in canada and driving down to the conversion place and make a holiday from it and drive it back done,no duty,no voided waranty, unless the conversion voids it.if its done at a reputable place and it passes inspection i dont see why it would.

you should be able to buy some kind of warranty from Dodge? ... for that kind of money I'll be looking into it next time. If they don't get their pricing in line by the time I get my next truck I'll be buying from the US warranty or not. Hate to buy a Ford but if they are they the only ones that play fair then I may look at least.
