In May of 06 I bought a RAM

And i think i ended up with a goat. Am i the only one on here that has something broke all the time? I average 100 a week here lately fixing crap. My father-n-law (maintains a fleet of trucks and many are doges) told me that if i bought this thing i would be sorry that it would nickel and dime me to death. He was right and it has. I still love my truck and would never sell it but the low quality of the product is driving me nuts. I am going tomorrow to buy a backup worktruck and i guess its going to be an a lbz chevy. Seems like the lesser of the 2 evils at this point.

I bought mine in Feb of 06, have had NO problems, runs like a champ. outperforms any truck I have had before it. I have not spent 1 dime on any kind of repair. I am however on top of good maintenance practices and I don't hammer it hard. I tow heavy, use it off road quite a bit, do have demands regarding performance. I'd buy another one tomorrow.

47,000 on mine. So far ball joints at 26,000 under warranty. AC Blend door under warranty. Quite a few trips to the drap strip. Some towing 5-8k and a decent amount of off-road. Love this truck. Those are my only issues so far.

Bought the Mega on July 5th 2006, and only had the real axle seals done under warranty at 35k and have 43k miles now. I also do very routine maintenance and have not had any other problem.

Sorry to hear about yer problems . . . I guess there is always a couple of bad ones with each brand. My 04.5 started to fall apart after 200k miles but those 200k miles were racked up in about 1.5 years, so the truck was pretty much working/towing almost every day. I found the Dodge wrapper just couldn't handle that kind of punishment, despite being advertised as a "Heavy Duty" truck. After 200k miles I was replacing things twice and twice as fast. I traded up to a 07 and it now has 172k miles in just about 1.5 years. It has held up pretty good as well once they got the EGR & flashes straightened out. I have only replaced the front axle u-joints, shocks, front brakes and a couple of sets of tires so far, however we're fast approaching that 200k mile mark. If I continue in this business I think a new truck will be in order rather than putting all my profits back into a high mileage truck. I was hoping to hold out till the new body style in 2010. We'll have to see how things go. I've had a couple of Ferds, last year of the 7.3's and had to rent a GMC for a couple months when the Ferd was down and I can tell ya I won't be going back there anytime soon. I'll be sticking with has served me the best.

If you love the truck so much because of the cummins under the hood then trade it off and just get another one. There are alot of good ones out there and they have good deals on the new trucks right now and some dealers even offer a lifetime warranty on the diesels.

I'm upset about ujoints and ball joints on these trucks. Only 52,000 miles and both rear driveshaft u joints have been replaced, and now one of the front drive shaft u joints is starting to vibrate. Ball joints have been loose forever, I guess I'll do the front axle shaft u joints when I do the ball joints.

The rest of the truck has been awesome, and I've decided to keep it forever.

Just rolled 70k miles and I haven't done anything but maintaince. Plan on doing the front end next summer and probably clutch, but I can't complain as it will be over 80k by that point. I am very strict on maintaince and very easy on my truck, tow 14k or a pretty heavy sled deck in the box but hasen't given me any issues. I don't know what you have for mods, but IMO if you go past 1 programmer on low setting, ANY issues are caused by abuse of the truck, stacking boxes is HARD on a truck.

I rolled over 90k a week or two ago. Only part I've HAD to change was the valve body, and Dodge did that under warrenty. Other than that I've only had small problems (speaker in door going out ect) and problems that I caused (ruined headlights trying to make home made "night runner" lights, ect). My truck has been great to me so far.....(knock on wood). Sorry to hear you are having so many issues. Sounds like you got one with a gremlin.

I bought my truck in Oct of 06 and have had no real problems, I do think the rear seal is going however I got fluid in my drive way. Any way you get good and bad in any type truck you buy, you could have gottin ones of those trucks that was built on a Mon or Fri type deals.

Some of the stuff you mention is common on ALL trucks. At 105,000 miles normal wear items are going to start needing replaced. I'm not saying all your trouble is normal but IMO it's hard to complain much about replacing batteries and hoses.Even the AC compressor isn't unheard of at 100,000 miles.

I bought mine as a left over 06 in Feb of 07 and after 23k it has been fine. Other then the fuel filter being plugged at about 22.8k and giving the illusion it was leaking injectors, it has been great.
