marker lights

I have an 04' ram, I heard it was common for the roof top marker lights on any truck to leak. Well mine are leaking, noticed it while taking a turn and a stream of water landed on my lap from the shade visor clips im curious if anyone has/had the same issue and how it was corrected. thanks

Seems to be pretty common. If you look on top of the truck you can tell which lights have moisture in them. I pulled my leaky ones off and clear siliconed the gasket to the roof and then also the light to the gasket. No problems since. If you have any cracked lights you may want to smear some clear silicone over the cracked area or just replace the lights...

I jast had another light replaced. Warranty is out soon so I guess I will get out the clear silicon if they crack again. I have been making the dealer replace them because it is under warranty. I have had all 5 replaced twice and now just the middle one. good luck

I have yet to have issues with the clearance lamps, guess I got a good one. But if I do have a issue, I'll do the replacing. Go back with clear RTV and very light torque on the mounting screws.

I was one of the first to have this issue with the Gen III. I was also one of the first to recommend the silicon fix. My experience is it is still just a temporary fix. The leaks all return in time. I have replaced at my own expense more cab marker lights than I care to mention. Did I mention I dread taking the truck to any dealer? They don't show any signs of cracking but they still start leaking over time. This is nothing but a design flaw. I have e-mailed DC about this as all with the problem should do, even if silicon has seemed to help for now. DC doesn't think they have a problem and give you the same old response. Sorry for your luck and try a different dealer. No more trucks with cab marker lights for me and no more DC products period!

Not sure if this is just a dealer thing but on the bottom of my invoice, including warranty invoices, it says parts and labor guaranteed for 12 months, no mileage limit. I just had my door rubbers replaced under this warranty for the second time and no charge, even though i have over 100,000 km. on the truck because i was still within the 12 month period from the previous repair. Oh, and no clearance light leaky problems here, i guess i got lucky on the lights
