Lorenz Bilstein 5100 Suspension System Install Questions?
Lorenz Bilstein 5100 Suspension System Install Questions?
I have an '03, 3500 SRW, 4X4 with about 58,000 miles & the stock shocks. I've just ordered the above mentioned system & have a few install questions.
Awhile back, I read that you had to remove the front, top bolt on the trailing arm & loosen the front lower trailing arm bolt (with the guage on it) to drop the axle enough to get the new coil springs in.
When I ordered the system, Sean (@ Lorenz Ind.) said that all you had to do was remove one of the track bar bolts & the suspension would drop enough for the spring install.
What have you guys done? I'm not much of a mechanic but, like to try this stuff.
If you have any tips or suggestions regarding this install (including the rear mini-packs) I would really appreciate your help.
Do you recommend a front end alignment after the install?
Thanks.

Should be able to do it just by unbolting one end of the track bar. If that doesn't work you can remove one from the control arm also. But just start with the track bar.
When you're done align the front. You can do it yourself, its pretty easy to do. Set toe to neutral and leave castor alone. If you have trouble with death wobble add more castor.

unbolt driver side of track bar and it should droop enough to install springs. also don't forget to unbolt 13mm bolt for the brack hose bracket and also the top nuts on the sway bar links..
