looking at an 03 longbed

Had a fellow bring by an 03 4X4 6spd longbed today for me to look at. He is asking $17,000 for the truck and it is a lot rougher than I expected it to be for that much money. small dents all over. rear seal on transfer case slinging oil. interior is all but trashed. needs tires desperatly.engine sounds good. shifts fine, 4X4 works. just installed southbend clutch. inside of bed has a hole and other damage from a butcher job installing stacks. Stacks are gone now.
couple questions I have

low wash light will not go out even with a full jug.

light on dash button for side mirror defrost flashes.????

has fuel pressure gauge and it reads 8psi at idle and under heavy pedal goes down to about 4-5 psi. Is this right??

turbo sounds loud to me but the engine is alot quieter than my 12 valve I sold. Might be the turbo in my 12 valve was hidden by the engine noise. Got 32psi boost out of it on the test ride.
truck is silver and is from texas. I could find no rust at all.
Has a ranch hand front bumper that is beat up pretty good. I don't like those bumpers. way too big and ugly, no styling to them at all.

to be honest the truck scares me a little. I would be interested in it for around 12,000. No more.
Young kid owns it and he bought it off the internet and went to texas to but it.
Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like $17k is way too much. I agree with you, I wouldn't give more than $12k. How many miles are on it?

If you do decide to get the truck, I would more than willing to swap bumpers with you. If you make a trip to central Florida, I would even be more than willing to do the work, plus throw in something for you and the wife, like a day at Disney.
