Lifting truck, when is a trac bar needed?

Hi all,
I have been researching lift/leveling kits for my 06 2500 4x4 and have decided that I am going for a maximum of 3 inches of lift up front. I have two questions concerning me doing this.

1. I plan on replacing coils, shocks and endlinks regardless if I go with a 2 or 3 inch lift coil, however I did notice kits do not include track bars. If I can save some money by not purchasing a trac bar right now that would be great. My question is when should I be considering replacing my front trac bar or any other front suspension component with my desired lift height in mind.

2. I like the look of a slightly raked out truck (rear being higher) and would also like to lift the rear slightly, say 1 inch just to keep it slightly higher out back. I do not want to reduce payload or towing capacity at all so I'm thinking of just adding small blocks to the rear with some longer shocks. Can anybody recommend some blocks for me or another means of rear lift? Been eye ballin Thurens rear shackles as well. How do these stack up as far as keeping the payload ability OEM

You can use your original track bar with a drop bracket. 4" and over an adjustable is strongly recommended. I have 6" with original track bar and drop bracket, but this spring when I get new tires I'm going to go with an adjustable.

I ran a Kore suspension (3inch) with the stock track bar for well over 150k miles with no issues. Now I was only running 285/75/16 tires so rubbing was not an issue. I did not experience any tire wear issues, handling issues etc, Yes the axle was off center but it did not seem to affect handling or tire wear. Larger tires certainly could have led to rubbing issues but again mine were only 285s. In addition to a longer/adjustable track bar recentering the axle side to side the control arms unless longer or adjustable will have the same issue from front to rear the axle will be pulled farther back. My stock ones also did fine for well over 150k. If you are really tearing it up off road those items may very well make much more difference.

Thanks for the info guys. What should I use to lift the rear an inch or two?
