Ok heres the deal. I have a 04.5 and the lift pump just went out. So what is the best thing to do and not spend a fortune on something good. I want to go aftermarket but not sure which is best and not to expensive. Should I go with a stock one from the dealer of buy an aftermarket one. If aftermarket which one. I have a Edge Attitude but that is about all that is done. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My intank pump is still running, however I'm still looking at an AirDog. My buddy has a FASS on his '07. You can see the filters hanging down and hear it running from down the street.

 

If you have less than 100,000 miles and five years service it is covered under warranty for free. The dealership will install a in-tank lift pump which all dodge cummins trucks come with since model year 2005, they have proven to be very reliable.

 

yeah I dont have a warranty on it. It has about 67000 on it right now. You cant buy one to replace it, you have to buy the conversion kit. Also if anyone has done it before how bad it the job, I have alot of maintenance experience but none on a diesel.

 

If you're still warrantied, take the free in-tank replacement pump. Once the in-tank model is in, the GDP or FASS system install becomes more difficult.
My in-tank repalacement has got 50K miles on it and is doing fine.

I have a Walbro 392 with the big line kit, I'd reccomend it. There is an adapter to take your lift pump off, and just run the walbro. I have had mine for a few years, I am very pleased with it. Look up Glacer Diesel Power, Richard Martin is the owner, he is an extreamly stand up guy, one of the best I have ever worked with.

I think that the lift pump on our trucks may be covered in the 100k Cummins waranty, look it up with your dealer. Tell them that it is the filter mounted one. I could be wrong on this, it is just hearsay...

X2 on the GDP! Tried several others........GDP was the only one to hold up to their word as far as what the pump will put out.

 

I just called dodge and that is absolutly true, They said that you can bring it in and they will charge like $100 to diagnose it and if that is the problem it is covered so pass the word. Without this info I would of just spent alot of money. I owe you one buddy.

Your dodge cummins engine came with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty from the factory.

Did you do something to void your warranty?? Trying to understand why you don't have a warranty.

Just figured this one out thanks to you guys!! I have an edge attitude on there is that a problem?

 

Remove it before going to the dealership or they will deny warranty.

 

I can leave the EGT probe with wire in right?

 

and if they ask why there's a hole in your manifold with a wire sticking out you'll tell them you had an EGT guage in to monitor temps for towing. The guage is shot and sending in for a new one.
