Lets see who can diagnois this leak? help
Hello,
During a recent oil change, I noticed my front driver side inner fender/sway bar to be cover in some sort of oil. After tracing the leak, it looks to be a red type of oil and coming from two hydraulic type line that connect behind the radiator support. There are two fittings where the hydraulic hose connect to metal. I do most of the basic maintenance on my truck, but this one has left me to question. Here are a few pics. Thanks

I second the tranny cooler and lines. That looks like the quick disconnect side, if so it may be an easy fix as I think you may be able to just get the rubber hose that will run from that spot to a metal line up by the engine.

I took your advice and went out this morning. started it and put it in neutral. went underneath and sure enough, it was dripping from the top fitting. right where there seems to be a quick disconnect.
Now, Do I replace the fitting? Can I get one of those at a auto parts store?

I finally buttoned it up tonight, but
it was cold.
I got so
with the quick disconnect that I ended up removing it. I spliced in a 1/2" aluminum coupler. I started it and got it up to temp. I will need more operating time to see if it is totally fixed. I am so disappointed with the design of that coupler.

I'd be real careful with that type of temp fix. If your fittings aren't barbed, plan on them coming apart. Recommend you get either OE replacements or have a hydraulic shop fabricate the lines and fittings for you. If that puppy pops under load you run a chance of sucking some ATF into the intake and then you're off to the races
now you have got me worried. It may look a little rough in the pics but, the hose is hydraulic and the coupler is a barbed at both ends. It was very tight getting it together. It seems like it would hold even without the hose clamps. I will be monitoring closely. Thanks
