Lemon law buy-back for vibe????
Vibe or Buzz?
Are we talking about two different things here? I don't have any vibrations in my truck at all. I did have the PS hose buzz at 1900-2100 RPM (really bad with the AC working) but the TSB for the weighted hose took care of it.
I have no vibration whatsoever at any speed and never have. My truck is stock, though I plan on going with bigger tires when the OEMs wear out. From what I've been seeing, I'll leave the lift kit off....

yeah,,we stARTED OUT TALKING ABOUT THE 600 AND NOW WE ARE IN THE 03,,,MINE IS A 04.5 VIB,AND IT IS DEFINATELY THE DRIVE SHAFT , RODE IN THE BACK WITH MY EAR ON THE SEAT,,"IT"S THE DRIVE SHAFT",,,HUMS LIKE A TUNING FORK,,TRY IT FOR YOURSELF
Yep.... same here
I talked with the dealer here in North Seattle and, of course, "We've never heard of such a thing" Wen't through the whole background with them and told em I'd be bringing it in at 15K and would educated em further. I love my truck, but my son won't even drive it. His 04 doesn't do it at all. Cruise 70 all day long no sweat, but my truck will flat out put ya to sleep with the vibe and the drumdrum...... Nice trucks, but if I hadn't bought mine, I sure as heck wouldn't buy one now. These are just too expensive to get hung with one of these. I'm sure there will be additional problems with bearings and seals down the road.

And,
Some of the NEWER then 03s did NOT come with the updated Hydro Boost hose.

Has any one dropped the front shaft and ran around without it for a while? The vib to me feels like what my old CJ2A felt like when I ran it on the pavement in 2wd with the hubs locked. Unlock the hubs and the vib went away.
All,
Here is what I found out. A little more info on my truck. I bought the truck 10/22/04. It is a 2500 quad cab LWB 6sp, 4.10 lsd 4x4. It has a 2" front steel leveling spacers, and I have 315x70x17 BFG AT KO's on the stock chrome steel wheels. It had 45,000 miles on it when I bought it, now it has 48,000 miles.
When I pulled the rear drive shaft out this morning and checked the POS stock u-joints, 2 where hosed. They were the rear 2, the front one was still good. Of the bad u-joints both of them had 2 caps that were bone dry, no grease. The rollers just fell out. I replaced all three of them while I was in doing it. I put Spicer 1480 series 5-155x greasable u-joints in the yokes. I was going to put the extended service non-greasable 5-803x joints in but my company was all out of them. They are a little better joint and have better seals.
After we replaced all the joints, we put the shaft on the balancing machine. We first checked the run-out. The front half of the 2-piece shaft had .10-.20 runout down the whole shaft. The rear piece had .30-.40 on the end closest to the carrier bearing. The rest the shaft had around .10-.20 runout. We figured the front rear yoke was welded off a little, so we heated the shaft up and put water on it (I forget the name for the process). It helped.
It was giving me us all kind of fits to balance, but we got it done. Now the truck rides nice and smooth, no vibes or nothing.
Sorry for the long post.

The VIBRATIONS have been ongoing since the 3rd generation came out.Vibration and drone issues at 1900 or so rpm to 2300 rpm.Driveshafts replaced, powersteeing hose, talk that it was turbo releated to start with and now that its because the frame is so stiff that it transmits through into the cab.Mine was miserable to drive any amount of time freeway speeds or on that Rpm range. They tried a front shaft and no change. The hose, changing the exhaust and miles mine improved greatlyvibration could be felt in the pedals, through the floorboard etc.Was talk about a tsb to help isolate the cab(rubber mounts of differant design)

I wish DC would learn to put lock-out hubs on heavy-duty trucks like ferd, prolly fix a bunch a potential problems. Seems like a waste turning all that stuff for no reason.

They fixed the clutch rattle with a new pressure plate, but I have a 70 (more like 75mph) vib that comes and goes. My main problem is the rattle at low speeds...you can hear it and feel it, but DC doesn't admit there is any problem.
I'm going to ask them about the 70 mph vib now too.

phloop, I have and the vibration is gone. Put it back in and the vib returns. Dealer has put 2 front and 1 rear drive shafts in it, spun the front tires on the rims and have not been able to fix it. Now they won't work on it anymore because DC is supposedly working on a fix.
