Does anyone have the Leather option in there truck? Is it durable? how is it holding up ? thanks

 

I have leather...to be honest I dont really like it. Its hot in the summer and cold in the winter (if you dont have the heaters turned on)...although, I do like the heat feature in the winter.

The seats have not had a lot of use (under 45k on the truck) - yet look quite worn already as well the foam inside seems to be breaking down. Im sure other people will contradict my comments, but this is what Ive found. I would trade my leather for cloth any day.

Maybe aftermarket leather seats would hold up better??

I have the leather as well. Have to agree with Evil that it is hot in the summer and cold in the winter although it doesn't get that cold around my parts. I have bout 10k miles on mine and they look great although there are substantial portions on the seats that are not real leather. I like the look of the leather over the cloth and it doesn't attract orders like the cloths seats do.

 

I have 136K on mine. Leather wears much better than cloth. I have had Dodges with both. In and out really wears on the driver's seat and leather hold up better than cloth. You can alway put on a seatcover if they are too hot or cold. I love my 6 way adjustable seat in leather.

 

75,000 and leather is worn a little but still looks good better than cloth get a remote start and solve the hot cold issue

 

I hate to say it but, If you want some nice leather seats pull a set out of a Ford King Ranch - butter soft saddle leather.....

 

Hey. now there is an idea I might be able to get the used truck dealer to switch the leather seats out of the 03 PSD Ford truck with the cloth dodge seats He said "we really want to do buisness with you let me know what it will take to get us together on theis truck"

 

i got the leather, wears well, i'm only 5'8"...these seats are made for someone around 6'1" in IMHO...i can never get comfy and i slide all around (especially w/ the BOMBS ) ....i would rather have cloth i think

 

got 260,000 km on mine, the edges have a nice worn look like an old leather jacket,

Cold in winter, burn your a in the summer.

I got saddle blanket seat covers, they are much warmer. But they move, so I will probobly only use them in winter..

With an 8 month old kid, puke and spilled juice wipes off much easier..

 

Another option is the wet okie (I think) seat covers over the leather or cloth. They seem to wear well, and are not too expensive. Not too hot, not too cold. Gotta agree tho in the cold the heated seats are the kats behind. Also gotta agree that Ford has great leater capt'n chairs. The bench seat fiasco in the ram is not nice IMO.

 

I've had the leather in my 2500 for a year and a half and it seems to be holding up just fine. I don't mind how it feels in the cold or the heat, and the backaches I had in my old car are mostly gone. Still wish I'd gotten the heated seats, but I don't have a problem with these seats at all.

 

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the leather...I had cloth before and I prefer the feel of the leather plus it does not produce the static electricity like the cloth does...just my .02 worth.

 

I have leather seats in my Dodge and have been very happy with them so far. They do get a little toasty in the summer, but for the winter the heated seat option really helps out. The leather seats are easier to keep clean too.

 

I started to get the leather option in my '04 QC but the quality didn't seem comparable to the price. VERY little of the material is actually leather. Opted for the cloth instead and will upgrade to aftermarket leather when the cloth is worn out.

 

You can add aftermarket heat to your seats also.

The people at Katskinz also make pretty nice aftermarket leather seats so I'm told. I got the leather because it was included in the Laramine and am happy with it so far, but summer is coming
