Re:LEATHER?!?!

Yes, you can get a sport with "leather" and the manual shift. That's what I have. If I had to do it all over again, I would not order the leather option from Dodge. It's too expensive for what they give......leather only in the front and only where your body touches the seat. Even the "center" seat in the front is not leather! It's a rip off, and there are much better aftermarket leather interiors you can put into the truck which give you more leather coverage.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Sounds like the leather is 'dodge' quality rather than 'cummins' quality ;D Would other ppl agree? I was thinking a SLT with leather comes out to very close to a price of a Laramie. Is there any reason not to get the laramie? It seems to have a few more features...?

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Reasons I don't like Laramie:
1. electric shift tcase.
2. wood trim on dash.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

I sure am glad that I went with the leather. Just the other day my friend had cut his elbow without knowing he had done so. When he got in my truck he was bleeding enough for the blood to drip onto the leather. I was able to just wipe it off. If it had been the cloth interior I would have had a blood stained interior.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Thats one of the best things about leather, it's easy to clean up and doesn't easily stain. Due to having a big Rottweiler and pretty active lifestyle, I will likely get a set of Wet Okole neoprene(wetsuit material) seat covers to throw over the seats. These are waterproof, don't hold heat, and are custom cut to each vehicle. I've got them on my TDI, and they are awesome. 56k miles and the leather underneath looks brand new. Therefore the cloth seating option might be ok. I still consider leather though, because I figure I'll keep the truck a LONG time. Maybe the seat covers will wear out in 150k and I'll reveal perfect leather to sit on for the next 150k...thats the idea...

Wood on the dash is surely going to look cheap, thanks for bringing that up about the laramie, I guess I'll have to see it to decide. No laramie without wood?

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Lightman asked what the difference is between premium cloth and standard cloth & does standard cloth have vinyl in back.

Standard cloth does not have vinyl in back. Standard cloth does not have a power seat & does not have the center compartment under the seat.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

I went for leather to get the heated seats as well. Driving long distances the heat is really nice not to mention in the winter. The rear looks fine. Much of the vinyl these days looks and feels as good as leather, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Having the 4wd shifter as a **** on the dash gives me space for a middle front passenger that is unobstructed. It is nice to be able to quickly shift in/out as well since this is not an AWD setup.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

So is there a big difference between the standard and premium Leather interiors? (i.e. SLT leather vs. Laramie leather)
Chris

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Laramie leather had a sweade (sp) insert with ram logo and SLT has full grain. I like the slt leather, I don't thinks it's as nice as the GM or Ford though. If I had to do it over I would aftermarket leather a SLT. There is a post somewhere about doing that.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Picdodge, i'm not sure I understand the difference between the two leathers. What do you mean when you say full grain, and that the laramie has suede? Is the main seating surface leather and the other areas are different? Is the laramie leather nicer or not? It seems like the laramie has a lot of nice features built in, however the woodgrain is unappealing.

Can you get a laramie with a sport package or do they have the same stuff?
