LEATHER?!?!

I'm hoping to be ordering an '03 or early '04 before the EGR stuff starts. I'd like to get leather in my truck, but am unclear as to what exactly the leather options include. From reading the archives, it sounds like the SLT's leather-trim option is apparently just leather inserts, with vinyl surrounds up front and an all-vinyl seat in the rear, right? What about the Laramie's premium leather option - same thing, or full leather?
Also, is it at all possible to get a manual-shift transfer case in a Laramie truck? Thanks!
Chris

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Premium leather is the same as far as coverage is concerned (no leather on the back seat). And no, you can't have a manual transfer case with a Laramie. No cloth option and no manual transfer case with Laramie are the exact two reasons that I have an SLT Sport.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

heated seats the only way to get them is with leather, from the factory anyway. it was cold here last winter and i used a friends car for a few weeks heated seats are nice. especially if the truck takes a while to warm up..if u have pets and kids it cleans up easy too

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Nope, no leather in the back. It's a mighty expensive option for the front seats to just have it ONLY on the seating surfaces.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

thats disgusting. Especially with the price of these trucks, and considering even if it cost a bit more, some of us would pay to have full leather... Stupid dodge, stupid. Now since they dont offer full leather, when I buy a truck, I"ll likely just not get the leather option at all..

What does the premium vinyl look/feel like?

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Whats the best interior to get in your opinion? Whats the difference between the premium and standard cloth? If you get premium cloth, is it still vinyl in the back? LOL

Re:LEATHER?!?!

The vinyl is almost a perfect match to the front leather seats.

MikeyB

Re:LEATHER?!?!

Where your body touches when you sit in the truck is leather, the rest is vinyl.

Re:LEATHER?!?!

I wanted leather and heated seats but after doing some research decided that the cost was not worth what I get. Also wanted manual shift for the four wheel drive. It is far more cost effective to get the premium cloth upholstery and the manual shift. There are after market bun warmers available that are cheaper than Dodge's and from what I have found out so far, heat your posterior even better. So that is why I ended up with the SLT.
I have full leather in my car but my wife prefers the feel of the cloth seats in the truck. Will be getting the after market bun warmers soon, front and back.
