Learned something new about my truck today
At lunch, sitting in an office parking lot waiting for some buddies to join me, a guy in a PSD pulled up next to me and motioned for me to roll down my window. I did . . . and then he shut off his truck and came over to chat.
He opened by handing me his card (printed on his color deskjet printer) and telling me to call him when I come to the realization that I can only get 13/16 mpg and anyone that says otherwise is lying.
He followed by informing me that my 325/600 puts out 30hp less than the 555 engine and gets worse mileage because they changed the injectors to ones with fewer holes and not enough fuel pressure to create the proper plume for an optimum burn. Didn't Ford get burned big-time on the Mustang Cobra for claiming more HP than it delivered? Can you spell C L A S S A C T I O N???
He sells an aftermarket chip that increases pressure safely to make the right plume but, at the same time, monitors EGTs to make sure it's safe on the engine. Of course, this results in more power and better mileage too!!! He claims that he has signed up several local Dodge dealers to sell/install/support the product. When asked if it would void the mfr warranty, he skirted the issue repeating that it's the only product Dodge dealers would touch because it's so safe. We all know the answer to my question.
I'm as open-minded as the next person. He appeared sincere and I'm willing to invest a little time checking this out.
I think the Banks Sixgun monitors EGTs as part of its input. Do any of the others?
Neil

4. I have no reason to share anything but the truth about my

more unit as I have nothing to gain by it.
That being said...
The 'ol boy's dragging a skunk around behind his PSD and trying to somehow make you believe your RAM is the one making the stink. Now he wants you to pay to remove the skunk that he put there. Ever hear of the word SCAM???
Ford, GM and D/C all make VERY good products. Each has good points and each has flaws. All are the combined result of the efforts of many different suppliers. Thus, if Ford happened to suffer from bad brakes and Bendix happened to be the supplier... Would Ford be at fault? Same goes with many of the components we find in our vehicles. Some things are beyond the control of the folks who put their badge on the vehicles we own.
Bottom line: Dodge puts out a very good imperfect product... I believe it's better overall than the rivals, but that's my opinion. Dodge is capturing a greater and greater share of the market every year. Dodge is, in many ways, what the others wish they were.
That puts Dodge in the position of being a target for a lot of reasons. It also puts Dodge owners in a position to be the target of those who in past times wouldn't give us the time of day. Maybe were not used to the "extra" attention.

I just got 18.9 on a los angeles-arizona trip 75-80 with the banks six-gun.
Got it reflashed, and ran it back, 17mpg without the six-gun.
Tell this DUDE to sell his stuff on its merits, not by bashing your truck.

I'd like to know how a 'box' can change the plume of the injectors.
Is that not a function of its actual shape and size of the hole?
It could make the plume bigger perhaps with more pressure.
I am sure that folks in the know on injectors could comment on that.
