leaking oil filter

leaking oil filter

Had my fourth oil change last nite. I went to leave for work this morning, pudddle under the truck the filter was leaking. I had the oil chnge place use my wix filter. took it back today they removed the filter it was tight. They replaced with one of there own got home leaking again. I got my old filter back the seal was ok and the threads were ok no cross threading. Any help on what could be wrong.

Put on a Mopar or Fleetguard and if it still leaks, there is definitely a problem. They didn't crack the filter attachment housing did they?

Are you sure the old filter seal was removed? They tend to stick when you pull of the old filter.

Just a thought.

as far as i could tell it was. cant be certain. ill take it back tomorrow again and talk to the mannager

When that happens it is usually that the old rubber gasket came off your filter when you changed it and the other was screwed on over it. It will leak every time. You are lucky you didn't start off on a long trip.
