Lamp Out????
Lamp Out????
I've got an 03 and the lamp out light has been coming on very briefly just enough to see it and the bell keeps dinging. I don't have a book so i'm not sure what this means. It seemed like when it got warmed up it quit dinging.
What does this mean????
What does this mean????
It probably thinks one of your tail or brake lights is out. I think there's a harness problem where the bulb plugs in (do a search on this site). Mine has done it twice - once the wire on the bulb melted into the plastic of the holder, the other time I have no idea what happened, but it went away after I cleaned the bulbs and mounting sockets.
Mine does the same thing, occasionally. I know it's the right rear stop/turn signal element, but it's intermittent and usually goes away on the next significant bump I hit. It's always been working when I check lights while hooking up the 5er.
it checks for high resistance. our '03 had that problem and it turned out that one of the taillights had a black mark on the end of the wire. we replaced the light bulbs at the back of the truck and no problem since...
My 04.5 on the first time light and chime was on for months before I found the left brake light would work while standing still when I checked, but would go out when the truck was moving.
Just came on again last week, same left rear brake light was burned out.

Mine did the same back in August. I read all the threads here; some had to change out the tail light module itself, others just the bulbs. I started with the bulbs and that fixed it. No problems since
I think i might help
I had the same dam problem with my 03 when i had it. It drove me nuts. After many hours of searching and swearing i finally traced it to a loose conection on get this the license plate lights. It seemed the harness was not fully engaged. Once i finally snapped it into place it never came on again. I hope this might help you, and good luck.
