Hey guys I need some help. I was working on my truck installing a CB and somehow or another locked my keys in my truck. I'm currently in Venice LA which is a good hour from civilization. Does anyone know if a 07.5 ram mega can be unlocked with a slimjim? If so please let me know. And if not the best way to get in. Thanks in advance!!

Since you obviously have internet access, try to locate a locksmith in the area. Sucks because you are an hour from anywhere but it would be worth a call. I am sure it can be done with a slimjim.

 

Call a towing company and ask them...I always carry just a plain key in my wallet for those kind of days.Cant use it to drive,but it does open the door.

 

What I do is use a coat hanger and pry the top of the door frame open a little and go in from the top and hit the unlock button. Its so easy a caveman can do it!!

 

Tow truck if you are AAA no charge, the passenger side door is somewhat easier to slimjim. AAA will make a key for you at no charge that you can keep in your wallet. It is made of plastic, it will work to open door only. Do you have a rear sliding glass window? Did you check if it was locked also?

 

No AAA but I can get a cop with a slimjim if anyone knows if that will work. I know some vehicles have guards on the locks that make a slim jim useless.

 

Rear slider? Also you can usually pry back the door and slide the antenna down and hit the unlock button, done it on alot of chevys never a dodge though

 

I take off my Wilson 2000 (CB antenna) and have a butter knife in my tool box, pry back the door and use the antenna to hit the button in the cab. forget the slimjim and NEVER let a cop do it. because when they bend the linkage because they don't know what they are doing, they are not liable for anything and will not pay.

 

Thanks for all the great advice guys, I got in. One of the guys I work with was probly a criminal before a boat captian, he had me unlocked in about 3 mins. All is well now except my electrical problem

For future reference, 3rd Gens can be easily unlocked with a slim jim or coat hanger at the door handle location. Pry the window seal out a bit with a screwdriver or knife then use a slim or hangar with a small 90deg hook and fish around right at the door handle location. It'll unlock.
