Issues with Steering Column Electronics?

Anyone else experience periiodic issues with steering column mounted electronics on their 03 - present Rams? On my old 03, I would occasionally have problems getting the blinkers to function. 99% of the time, lifting the column and droppping it back down solved the issue. Just yesterday, in my 06, I couldnt get the wipers to operate. And once again, lifting the column and dropping it back down got them going. Seems to be a problematic area, at least on my trucks....

In the year & 14K miles that I have owned mine I've not had any problems with it. Sounds like you need to take it in for them to check out what the problem may be as that is what your warranty is for.

I have a problem with my 04 column in that moving the tilt anywhere downward from the complete upward position kills the blower fan.
I'm pretty sure the wire harness has been moved up and down with the tilt until I've got a wire broken and shorting out. 105K so DC is out for fixing mine.
I just leave the wheel in the full up position and all fan speeds work, not really a major problem. I'll bet alot of the multifunction switch functions are going through that same wire bundle. You can see the bundle if you take off the bottom of the column shroud behind the wheel. (screws are T-10 Torx)Not much room to cut and splice in new bypass wire to correct a problem.
DBLR is right, taking it in might be the best thing if you are not worried with other goof ups while they are attempting the repair and the time with out your truck.

Yeah, I know that its a warranty fix. Just a big PIA to get the rig scheduled and arrange for rides to work and back while they have it for a day or two. Heck, I've never even taken it in to get the scratch they put in it fixed because of the PIA factor.

2006 multi function switch probs

I have about 45000 km on my 06 mega. Just had my second multi-function switch replaced. Problems with the opposite signal coming on, high beams not latching on, high beams turning on wipers, etc. If the switch is malfunctioning it sets an error code that the scanner will pick up. They said that there does seem to be a problem, because they've seen a few of these switches go. Mine seem to last about 20,000 km each. Other than that, no problems.

why would the blower wire be running thru the steering column?

When I turn my left on it flashes, then randomly flashes the right, then back to the left and so on. I dont' want to take it in because I hate having people mess with my truck.

The blower runs off one of the main power feeds from the ignition switch. I would deal with the problem soon, as that's a fairly high current circuit. It'll be sparking pretty good if the connection's loose.
