Thanks, I will look into those. Im thinking that the Alpine deck might be the best option. Do the guys with the IPod connection to the factory radios have the base CD player?

Ipod to factory

In response to the question, yes, I have the single cd only. Have the connector on this and our other dodge hooked to the cd changer input. Great, clean sound, and I never have to change the channel it is on, or listen to static.
The ones that use the bottom connector on the ipod tend to give the least problems, and do not mess up the headphone jack if twisted around.

scout6,

Which connector do you have? I see your truck is an 04, so should be similiar stereo plug-ins as my 03 single CD w/ changer controls. The connectors listed above are for the 05+ to my understanding, so I am wondering which one you are referring to......thanks.

This one

Being an early adopter of technology, I have had this one
http://store.xmfanstore.com/pieoem.html
for several years (pulled it out of my last truck). I tied this one in with a belkin adapter, plugging an rca y to mini stereo pin cord. The mini plugs into the belkin and gives you a nice long cord (just one) to attatch to the ipod. This gives you power and line out.

There are newer ones that allow for your steering wheel controls to work and has the power running from a source other than the lighter. These run a bit more than either piece, but less than both. It is http://www.carplayer.com/
I would get one of these if I did not already have the others (the separate pieces I have allow me to pull the power and connector out of the truck and put it on the bike, leaving the part hooked to the back of the reciever connected. I also like leaving my ipod in the ashtray and using its controls by lifting it up and looking at it occasionally. Seems to work for me.
Have fun.

I have an '06 with the factory radio that has an "Aux" port on the front of the stereo that allows you to plug in your Ipod with one of these http://www.monstercable.com/productD...sp?pin=3258ows
and it works very well. I don't know if the '05 has the same port or not.
