instruments not working

went to move my truck this pm and found that my key fob would not unlock the doors, no gauges or warning lights, the security light was only light on and it's on steady(i don't have a security system). the truck started and drove normally, except the head and tail lights are on, no break lights or turn signal. all functions of the overhead seem to working except the odometer. the mpg, dte....

update ...went to check the overhead and now the instruments are working.. code p0700 is displayed.. help

P0700 is the transmission control system.
It could be a number of things that can cause those issues but the first items to check is bad or loose connections at the ECM and other control modules, wires chaffing and bad grounds.
If you use the tilt steering often check the wiring harness in the column, a known area for problems.

would this be a warranty issue?

I would think so. If you have warranty left it wouldn't hurt to try.
