installing vent mod today ??

what is the 90degree elbow next to where your suppose to drill a hole? why cant you take that out and use that hole mine has no hose on it or nothing!

also im going to lift bed off truck i have a lift, should i slide off the fuel lines or like the repair manual states to remove screws at fuel door and seperate the flanges?

The 90° elbow you are talking about I believe is a vent used for gas trucks since we share the same tank. There should be one on the other side of the tank as well. You should connect hoses on them and run them up and out of the way since water and dirt has a chance to get into your tank with them left open. There was some nice pictures on here somewhere, maybe someone will be able to find them and post a link.

I dropped my tank rather than lifting the bed so I can't be of much help there since I've never taken the bed off.

dropping the tank was easy just use some wratchet straps and a jack and a friend, I even did it with the tank over half full. Piece o' cake!

I also dropped the tank. I used a ratchet strap and floor jack and did it by myself with no problems.
Here is a link to a thread I started and has some good reading for you. Tank vent mod

Also you can search for Tank Vent Mod and find lots of info. Page 2 of my link above has another link to a place I based my mod from and it also has lots of pictures.
