Installing the vent kit?????

I am planning on installing my vent kit between now and the first of the year. Since I have the in tank lift pump I was wondering is there a way to plumb a line of some sort to install an aftermarket pump in case mine would fail being i would have the tank already down.

I believe if I Have read correctly, that you can not suck fuel through the dead in tank lift pump. I really didn't plan on modding this truck ( I swear I won't is what I told my wife) But the bug is biting me again. These bolt on tonneau covers and stereo's just don't cut the fever!

fuel system

I and many others have installed the GDP walbro setup.

see http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/de..._id=09-003-003

A "plus" with this system which is seldom talked about
is as long as your stock in-tank pump is still in working
order it can be used as a 'backup' which, if nothing else,
will give one more peace of mind. Should your Walbro
cease to function (have not heard of this happening to
anyone) all you need to do is switch a couple electrical
plugs and you will be back with the stock system.

The pump mounts on the inside framerail near the
tank. If you are interested I would suggest you download the installation instructions which can be
found on the site.

My fuel pressure is running between 18 & 20 psi
measured at the inlet hose to the CP3. I say 'inlet hose'
because I also have the 2 micron fuel filter and I get
my fuel pressure in that filter line leading to the CP3.

Since you will already have the tank off it would be
a perfect time to do it. And if you are pressed for
time you could do just the fuel pick-up installation
at the tank. I would also suggest doing the wiring
mods and the return 'T' installation . You could cap off
these two fuel fittings and use the stock system until
you had the time to finish the job.
