Installing the Dodge Factory bed liner
Installing the Dodge Factory bed liner
I picked up a second hand bed liner for my 07. It is out of another 07 dodge short bed....it has a bunch of brackets that appear to get mounted near the stock tie down section....I obviouslly don't have directions....anyone installed a mopar brand bed liner that can give me some pointers?
Remove the factory tiedowns,Then You mount the brackets where the tie downs were,The brackets in the rear must point towards the front, fronts point to the rear. There should be 2 bolts per bracket.Install bedliner ,2 people makes it much easier and warm if possible. If the liner has large holes use trim pieces that came with the liner,if it has the small holes there should be 4 oval trim plates that go behind the tiedown(insert bolts through tiedown into oval plate then tighten).Torx T40 I believe is needed for tiedown removal and installation, and 13 millimeter for bolts for the brackets.Hope this helps.Rob.
Remove the tie downs?
Does that mean there are bolts behind them or something that I can access from under the truck?
It will prob become all clear when I go to do it....but it is still below freezing.

Or save yourself the $500 on the spray in and go with the factory bed liner and not worry about scratching the paint, especially if you're only keeping the truck a few years. I had a liner in my old 1990 Ford and sold it when I got this truck, the box was still in fine shape after 16 years.
If 5 years down the road you don't like what you see under it, then have it sprayed. Lotsa people are getting rich doing the spray ins...
You're cool with the bedliner. Upon installation, I've always put a heavy coat of paste wax in the entire bed, then install the liner. Nice protection rom any water that may get trapped.
