Infinity Amp Removal

Anyone have good step by step instructions for removing the Infinity Factory Amp? Working on a 2003 QC 3500. All I really need to do is get to the speaker connector at the amp, disconnect it & tap into the wires for an aftermarket amp. I removed the glove box and man..its way up there. Before I start randomly removing dashboard screws, I'd like some input from someone who has accomplished this.

Thanks!

Unless you have good reason to do otherwise, I'd access the wires coming out of the head unit. That part of the dash is alot easier to access.

The factory amp also has some funny crossover stuff incorporated into it, so it may be tricky to get a full signal output if you're looking for something coming out of the amp.

Maybe I wasn’t too clear in my posting about what I want my final outcome to be. I will use an aftermarket amp with an after market radio. I need to get to the speaker wires to connect them to the amp. The factory amp will not be used at all. I know it’s a bear to get to the factory amp so if I can just get to the harness where it plugs into the factory amp, I can get to the speaker wired from there. The wires at the radio access go thru the factory amp so they can not be utilized.

Thanks

You can get to the right side speaker wires behind the right side kick panel. You can get to the left ones either behind the left kick panel or at the harness above the parking brake pedal.
To remove the kick panels, open the door and remove the threashold trim. The panels will pull off after that.

You just remove the glove box and you can remove the amp, it's a major pain in the butt but you can do it. I spent probably 20 mins just getting the 3 or 4 bolts out. Now I can drive over the stupid POS!

Can anyone tell me the wire colors for the drivers side harness? As you can see in my other posting, I popped the drivers side seat belt air bag cartridge probing for wires.
