na i always keep it on recirc. i can stand the outside air here, driving down the freeways sucking up stinky highway air is not pleasant in houston rush hour, lol.

Ah that makes sense I suppose. This is farm country...we get rush hour, but that just means more cars...not bumper to bumper stop and go.

Question

well like everybody else my recirculate door broke on my 06 mega cab. so i took the part number that was posted here to my dodge dealer and they said the part number was superseded to 6800422AC and cost me 37.00 dollars after tax. i have not put it in my truck yet but is this the right one? as far as i can tell it looks the same.I mean is this new upgraded box or did they tell me a bunch of crap and sell me one just like what is in my truck now? thanks Mopar72

I just worked on my recirculate door yesterday. Took out glove box and the fan motor. Took some of the dash loose to get at it. Disconnect BLUE wire for recirulate door. Drill small hole in recirulate door and tie it in the closed position to the frame work with a zip tie. Put it back together. All done in one hour. A\C now works much better. I also have more air flow coming out of the dash. All blend doors work fine. [QUOTE]] "If I want fresh air I will open a window."

gpshemi,
My defrost still works, but I am now using all inside air. I can also turn the temperature up or down as need.

my recirc door is leaking (wind whistles like the turbo on the interstate) and it don't work on feet.

the dealer wants hour labor / $95 to set the door positions.

any options?

If you don't get air at your feet, and you do elsewhere (dash, defrost), then your recirc door is prob good and your Mode Door has left the Ram. On the other hand, if you don't get air anywhere, and you just have a loud fan noise, take the fan out (3 or 4 bolts by the passenger's feet) and reach in and pull the door out. Put the fan back in.
Back to evening brew. . .

my recirc door fell apart years ago.

my wrench buddy did the full heater Treater door kit last year.

it worked for about 2 months, then the AC compressor died.

i guess my wrench buddy disconnected the battery when he did the AC compressor, becuase they have NOT worked since: the feet comes out the defroster ~80%, so your face burns off, and your feet freeze.

the dealer just called, they calibrated all the doors, except the mode door.

it will NOT blow out the feet. he said something is wrong in the air plenum box, with the Defrost door.

does anyone have a pictorial description of which door is which, and which position in each mode? looks like I have something to do this weekend.

TDR has a "Paid" area but DTR is much better IMHO.

Look for RatlRatl.

OMG....screw that. I'll have a dealer tear it apart that far down. That way I can complain to him about every little squeek and rattle afterwards.

So far mines fine without the recirc door. It's been in the 20's and 80's. Works about the same.
