Incentives? rebates?

Does anyone know what the future might bring with either incentives or rebates? I was only offered $1000 rebate today. Missed $2500 yesterday cutoff. Tuff pill to swallow. Still looking. I got them to go $500 under invoice which I guess is Ok, but they wanted to murder me on the trade. Go figure.

It always seems to take DC a few days to get their act together between incentive programs. I have been watching this on the Dodge website for almost a year now and noticed that incentives get better as the model year progresses, although higher prices offset this somewhat. I would be surprised if the new incentives don't at least equal $2500 plus the $300 price increase, especially since the Mega Cab and updated body style will be available in a few months.

PS: The Power Sunroof is finally available in 2500s. That means only the above can stop me now!

Dodge's February truck sales were up 4%, whereas Brand F & C were down. This might not help our incentives chase. There was nothing on Dodge's site, but on Edmunds, you can get either $1000 back or up to 4 yr/0% if I read it right, for Cummins powered rams.

According to the internet manager I've been working, for March, it's $1000 rebate plus $1000 more if you finance thru DC with a rate around 6.5%....not good if you asked me. OR.. 3.9% for 60months + $1000 rebate. A little better but not good enough. I'll wait.

I'm hoping for something better this month too. My truck has supposedly shipped last week and should show up in March.

Just my opinion. But with more pickup choices coming like the new full size Tundra, Nissan Titan, and the new Honda (saw it for the first time), I think by April/May you will see alot of incentives coming towards us. Plus the fact that oil prices are going to be close to 60 a barrel will put the manufactures in a big showdown with each other. Of course, I could be wrong in this specualtion.

I agree. Even if Dodge saw a 4% INCREASE in Feb. why would they pull the incentives for March? Wouldn't they want to stay on the top? I would've been more likely to sign on the dotted line had the incentives been better. Like I said, I'll wait.

Nonford is right, in theory. But how many of us aren't considering either of those brands since they don't offer a diesel? We, and many others, will stick with the Big 3.....for a while anyway. He's right as far as the oil prices go, IMHO, and if there are alot of orders for the Megacab, that should help quadcab incentives, too.....in theory.

Here's an updated version of the article I got my info from: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050302/auto_sales_5.html

You're right, trik396. Why wouldn't Dodge want to keep the momentum going? When your competitor is on the ropes, hit 'em with the knock out punch!

Well, it's not quite as bad as we thought. 1-800-4ADODGE told me today that the current incentives are $1000 Cash Allowance plus $1000 Bonus Cash. The latter only applies if you finance through Chrysler Financial Corporation, but there is no prepayment penalty. I'll finance the minimum amount and pay it off in one lump sum as soon as possible to keep most of the savings. I love loopholes! These incentives end on March 31st, hopefully to be replaced by better ones. You are entitled to the better of those in effect at order and delivery. Also, the $300 MSRP increase drops to all of $18 at Invoice. Looks like I'll be placing an order very soon!

Rebates - Don't wait!

Betting on the rebates getting better in April. I was going to order a 3500 end of Feb, didn't get around to it until Tue, March 1st. Was counting on the rebate staying at 1500 or even maybe going up some. Big suprise when they went down, by 500!!! (...and this seldom happens ans the model yr progresses - they stay the same or get better).

But ordered one anyway - My thinking : Most rebate times are 2-3 months. This one - 30 days. Very short. I'm thinking they will go up by 500 or 1000 on April 1, in time to entice the spring auto rush and old model pre-clearance. So here's hoping my new truck won't come in early. Expect it mid to late April when the better (here's hoping) rebates are in effect. Will be REALLY susprised if the April rebates aren't back up!!! OR is this all just wishful thinking on my part?
