When I took delivery of mine in march of 2003 I didn't get but 12 to 14 mpg. When i finally got around 40,000 on the truck it gets about 16 to 18 mpg at 65 to 67 mph you go any faster it drops. Towing 20 to 27,000 lbs i get 9 to12 mpg. Takes awhile on some of these motors to breakin than other motors hang in there people it will get better. Enjoy the ride

I've got a 97 2500 with 133K miles on it and it getting about 18 mpg. While that's pretty good, it's still aprox. $54.00 a week at the pump. (64 mile round trip to work). Wifey just retired at the end of last year so I spread the time between her 27 mpg grand prix and the pic-em-up. $34.00 a week.....works for me.
