I believe, it's the ignitions switch.

I believe, it's the ignition switch.
Just wanted to do a quick "make sure" post.
My ignition switch has always been a little odd since I purchased my truck used last year. It would kick on the AC compressor if I wiggled the key and rarely would turn to the ACC point without a short battle.
Well Saturday, it got to the point that when I turn the key off, it kills ALL power to the door locks, dome lights, radio, keyless entry....
I have to turn the key on for any of these items to work. Also, when I turn the key to the on position now, the security light will flash for a second and go off.
I "assume" the switch has given up the ghost and I'm just a key turn away from a no start situation.
Picking one up on the way home.

fade94 where did you get your switch and how much? Mines been acting up for a few years now and is in need of replacement. What is involved in doing this seemingly easy job?

Got it at O'Reilly Auto Parts for around $27, lifetime warranty.
Very easy repair.
UNPLUG THE BATTERIES.
Remove the upper column cover by removing the 2 torx screws on the under side.
Then, grab the tilt handle and pull it straight back towards the back of the truck, inline with the steering column. It will pull right off.
Then you can work the lower cover off of the key release button, key cylinder and tilt arm.
Turn the key to the on position and insert the torx that you used to remove the screws into the hole on the bottom of the cylinder and wiggle the lock cylinder out.
Then remove the two screws that hold the tilt mechanism on from the bottom. With it off you can remove the screws holding the switch on. You need to wiggle it out and pull it towards the driver side door.
The plug comes off by unlocking a red lock on the bottom then pulling the white lock straight up. The white lock pushes down and lockes onto small pins on the switch.

Thanks fade94. Sounds pretty straight forward. Going to pick up my water pump this morning from Cummins and I guess a new switch as well. I'll be making good use of my 3 days off next week !!
