HVAC works in summer not winter
HVAC works in summer not winter
I thought I had a blend dooor issue last winter and waited for the summer to tear in into this POS. Last winter I could not have floor only air. If I placed the **** on floor only I would get 20% floor and 80% defrost. My fix last winter was to take some shop towles and cover over the defrost vents. Like I said I waited until summer to fix it and when summer came the problem was gone 100% Fast forward to todays drive to work and BAM put it on defrost for some help with the light snow and sleet and then turned it to the floor and NOTHING I am at a loss for why it works in the summer and not winter. I do not want to go diving into this thing if it is something simple. So guys please tell me this is going to be easy!!!!
mine does a similar thing. winter time comes and all i can get is defrost. that and my fan doesn't work on the medium-low and medium-high settings so its all or nothing. went to fix it this summer when i noticed my a/c wasn't working again (that a whole other story) and blend seemed to work fine. now its back to cold feet. great system we have here...

Yep...I feel your pain man. Last night going home from work I had ice on the windshield and all I had was straight vent air. No leg no defrost no nothing. It did warm up enough in the cab to get rid of the ice though. Got home and got cleaned up to go to the wife's x-mas party and got back in the truck 40 min. later and sure as poopy-doo, everything is working just fine. I would hate to tear the dash out of it only to find that it wasn't necessary. I know my recirc. door is working and obviously the blend is working (sometimes) but I don't know what else it might be. Hopefully someone has come across this problem and has a cure.
Funny, after work mine is working fine also... However I do not plan on moving that **** ever
I feel like it might be a actuator motor that maybe to blame. I am looking over on another site because someone over there seems to have the same problem. I will report what I find!
