Weirdest thing happened today with my truck
I have an 07 2500 Mega Cab 5.9L 2WD. I've never had any issues with the truck whatsoever so far (66,000 miles). Overnight temps in the 20's and truck started fine. Drove to work, boss sent me to the grocery store for office Xmas party food and when I went to start my truck, absolutely nothing. Radio worked, lights worked, truck in "park", not even the dreaded dead battery clicking of the engine...I mean nothing. Called Dodge dealer, the service guy that was helping said it shouldn't be the batteries since my truck is not even 2yrs old. Also, since there was absolutely nothing happening when I turned the key, the service guy told me to unplug the fuse in the #11 slot in the fuse box (the IOD fuse) for 5-10 sec. Never seen a fuse like this one before with the funny looking plastic housing (only way to describe it) and it does not completely remove, it will unplug but will still be in place just above it's slot. Plugged the fuse back in and the truck fired up just fine. The service guy said I was about the 2nd or 3rd person to call in the pass couple days with the same problem. The guy said he wasn't sure if it's due to cold weather, moisture, and even said atmospheric conditions with electrical/frequency waves (we both laughed when I mentioned a massive solar flare). Oh well, truck is working now. Anyone have similar thing happen?
i had the same issue with my truck had to get it towed into dodge dealership and apparently it was the WCM the module that interfaces with the sentry keys and imobilized the engine. they couldnt even program my old keys so i lost my remote start till i swap out the key under the dash for the bypass.
