HVAC removal (IN NEED OF HELP)
HVAC removal (IN NEED OF HELP)
I have my dash out of the way. I believe I have all the fasteners removed from the HVAC in the engine compartment and all the ones keeping it attached in the cab. I have the hoses disconnected from the engine and the clamps removed from both sides of the hoses so when I do get the unit out the clamps won't tear-up the firewall. But for some reason it still feels like something is still attached on the right side somewhere near the heater core. Somewhere in between the firewall and the HVAC unit. To help anybody who is trying to help me out here are some pics I took about an hour ago. If it would be easier to talk on the phone, I can pm anyone my cell number who would like to try to help me out.
Thanks, Lynn

See if this thread helps a little. There are links to other threads contained in the write up below that may also help.

That is saved in my favorites for after I get it out. I also have this one: http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...-pictures.html and this one: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=183867 Even though this last link the truck is quite older than mine and the last is totally different than mine. But I was hoping for some kind of info I didn't see else where.
I can't help you with the 2006 but I can tell you from experience that if it feels like it's still bolted in you missed one. Whenever a new model of car/truck came out the first one I tore apart to install AC I always took it easy, never force anything the first time as they put screws in unlikely places and plastic breaks easily. I would suspect you missed a nut on a stud going through the firewall, they like to hide.
Good luck, you sure have it torn apart.

Thanks guys I found the last bolt behind the overflow tank. Now I'm trying to get these darn heater treater that have been miss labeled (2 doors are) w/ the shafts on the wrong ends!! Thanks for moving my post. Last night it was an a emergency as I was trying to get it done last night. I'm still working on it though. I'm waiting for someone to contact me from heater treater about these pics.
This will not stay in. Anybody know how to keep in in?

Anybody know the name of this part? It's broken and it needs to be replaced.

Anyone know how this is suppose to be connected? Nothing in the heater treater instructions says anything about it.
