HVAC issue
Good Afternoon, just became a member of this site due to the wealth of good infomation on this site. Several days ago my '05 CTD developed a problem with the cab heater. The two indicator lights for the A/C and rear defrost/mirror heat switches started flashing. They continue to do this now as soon as the ignition switch is turned on. The control for heat location is also all fouled up, has to be set on the panel vents to get air out of the defroster vents for the windshield. The temp control is also backwards, to get heat I need to turn it to cold (blue) and on hot it puts out cold air. Is this caused by the faulty HVAC door issue I have seen posts about for these trucks ? I live in N.D. so having heat is kind of nice this time of year.
Any information or comments will be appreciated. Ron

No answer to your problem but when I was stationed at Minot we just made sure there were at least two people in the vehicle. Everyone was dressed in full winter gear and while one drove the other one scrapped the ice off the inside of the windshield.

While that may sound like a story it is a fact. We never found out for sure but the vehicles they gave us acted like they didn't have a thermostat and the door seals were gone also. My personal vehicle would always warm up.
